Fulkerson Winery Releases 2008 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine
Dundee, NY ?May 13, 2009 ? Fulkerson Winery is pleased to announce the release of the 2008 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine, which was harvested Saturday, November 22nd, 2008; between 4:30am-7:00am (before Sunrise) at a temperature was 15 degrees. The harvest was performed by the following Fulkerson Winery Staff: Sayre Fulkerson, Eric Lebeck, Gary Jones, Bill Magee, Peter Herzeelle & Zack Sullivan. The 2008 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine harvest was a joint effort by Fulkerson Winery and Yates Cellars. The Cabernet Franc grapes were Alan Hunt?s (Yates Cellars) that Fulkerson Winery harvested for our wine making purposes.
The wine bottle features a silhouette of the prehistoric ?Stag Moose? from the Pleistocene era, continuing our theme celebrating animals of the Prehistoric period. The Fulkerson Vidal Iced Wine has a Mastodon and the Riesling Ice Wine has a Saber-Tooth Tiger on the label.
2008 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine
Tasting Notes: Our 2008 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine is beautifully presented with its glowing salmon pink color. The aroma of Cabernet Franc comes forth along with simmering red berry fruit. An initial burst of sweetness, then strawberry jam flavors intermingled with just enough vibrant acidity to make a tongue smackin' finish. Impress your dinner guests or sweetie with this dessert in a bottle.
